Long Biography
Dr. Bret Eynon is co-director of the Visible Knowledge Project and Director of LaGuardia's Center for Teaching and Learning. Dr. Eynon came to LaGuardia from CUNY's American Social History where he helped faculty nationwide transform their classrooms. Dr. Leonard Vogt of LaGuardia's English Department teaches collaboratively in LaGuardia's Learning Communities. He is particularly interested in the teaching/learning dynamic when students receive a large body of new material that conflicts with their current values. He is co-mentor of the College's Straight and Gay Alliance student club. Dr. Arthur Lau of LaGuardia's Communication Skills Department has taken a leading role in developing web resources that add to students' readings of the college's freshman reading. He is also a pioneer in LaGuardia's E-portfolio project. An important aspect of his work focuses on how students acquire critical academic literacy in the web medium. Dr. Gail Green-Anderson, also of LaGuardia's English Department, is coordinator of LaGuardia's participation in the Visible Knowledge Project. As a participant in the college's Teaching Portfolio Seminar and E-portfolio project, she is committed to giving community college faculty and students increased visiblity on the web.
